Quick Navigation:

Clearing out unwanted files or apps regularly can help us free up more storage space, make our devices more organized, and improve the performance of our system. However, deleting files, especially photos and albums is tedious. Depending on your photo album type, you can use two ways to delete photo albums on your iPhone.

1. If you want to delete native albums like Panoramas, Selfies, Live Photos, and Screenshots, you can directly delete them on your iPhone or iPad.
2. If you want to delete photos added by iTunes or other third-party software, you can use Qiling MobiMover.

To remove unwanted photo albums from your iPhone, you can choose the method that best suits your needs. Whether you want to delete a specific album, merge multiple albums, or remove duplicate photos, you can use the Photos app or third-party apps like Photo Cleaner or Duplicate Cleaner.

Method 1. How to Delete Native Photo Albums on iPhone

To avoid having hundreds of albums created by default, you can organize your photos into albums manually, which allows for easier photo retrieval. If unwanted albums have already been created, you can follow the steps to remove them.

Note: This method only allows you to delete the album, but won't affect photos in the album, so you can still find these photos in the Recents album.

Step 1. Open the Photos app and hit the "Albums" tab.

Step 2. Tap "See All" in the upper-right corner of the albums page to view your albums.

Step 3. To delete an album, tap the "Edit" option in the upper-right corner, then select the red "-" icon at the top-left corner of the album. Confirm the deletion by tapping "Delete Album".

Step 4. Tap "Done" once you've deleted all unwanted albums.

Method 2. How to Delete Photo Albums That Can't Be Deleted

You can't delete photos synced from a computer or added with a third-party tool, as we mentioned earlier. To remove these photo albums, you'll need a professional iOS data management tool called Qiling MobiMover to help, which can assist with this task.

To delete photo albums, you can follow these steps:

Step 1.Connect your iPhone/iPad to your computer with a USB cable, then run Qiling MobiMover and navigate to "Content Management > Pictures > Albums".

Step 2.To delete all photo albums from your iPhone/iPad, click "Select All" and then tap the trash icon. Alternatively, you can select specific albums you want to delete and tap the trash icon.

Step 3.After tapping the delete button, a confirmation window will pop up asking if you're sure you want to delete the photo albums. Click "Yes" to confirm the deletion.

In addition to photos, Qiling MobiMover supports managing other data types such as contacts, videos, audio, messages, and notes. It also allows you to back up your iPhone in your preferred way, transfer WhatsApp from one iPhone to another, and convert HEIC pictures to JPG.

The Bottom Line

You can quickly delete one or multiple ghost-empty photo albums from the Photos app on your iPhone using the methods introduced, which can remove albums created on your device or added by iTunes or a third-party program.
